Happiness

I was broken and it seemed beyond repair,
But I was holding on in my times of despair.
A wise man once said, work hard for the fruit,
And I noticed a strange hope in the surrounding air.

I had stopped feeling alive a long time ago,
Today I wanted to work, let my past go.
But where do I start? I questioned myself,
Happiness they say, comes when you go with the flow.

But my life and sanity was out of control,
Someone rolled the dice before, now my turn to roll,
But I didn't gift this new opportunity to chance this time,
Took destiny in my hands, headed straight for my goal.

I fell down seven times, got up eight,
Never let a man or God, control my fate.
And I found my happiness coming back to life.
Even God wept a proud tear, for the fruit I ate.
